Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, how you would describe your current health, whether you use tobacco, the amount of coverage you want, and how many years you want it for. Those six pieces of information are enough for the carriers to return their rates. Your name, address, or health history come into play only if you proceed to apply.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

They are the rates each carrier quotes for the health category you selected. Your final premium gets set by the carrier after underwriting, which may confirm, improve, or change that category based on additional information. Quotes shown on this site are estimates for comparison only, not an offer of insurance or a guarantee of any price.

What happens when I click Apply?

Selecting Apply takes you into a secure application that fills in the answers you gave during the quote. The form asks for your name and contact information, more details about your health, and your signature. The application is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), and you can pause and resume at any time.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount you are requesting, and the health information you provide. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting paths that use application information, prescription records, and other data instead of a medical exam. When an exam is required, it is typically a short visit at your home or office. Each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that product.

Is a longer term better?

A term should cover the years when your family or business would struggle most financially if your income went away: a mortgage, children at home, or a business loan. A 20-year term costs less per month than a 30-year term but covers fewer years. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30-year terms side by side so you can see the cost difference.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The rate tool does not collect contact information. We do not sell or share your personal data. Our first-party counter honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control; yet the site also includes a cookieless page-view beacon from our content delivery provider that does not honor such signals. The privacy page describes all tracking.
